The Big Idea

The Curtain Rises on a New Era for Platte Valley Theatre Arts.

The Opportunity

Since 2003, Platte Valley Theatre Arts (PVTA), formerly Platte Valley Players, has been a cornerstone of Colorado’s performing arts scene. Yet they had outgrown their name—which evoked a sense of grassroots theatre—and their marketing also fell short of conveying the professional, exceptional quality of their operations and talent.

The Solution

As the organization has continued to grow and expand its artistic reach, it sought a bold, cohesive way to better showcase its evolving reputation and brand. Long known as a small theatre with big ideas, PVTA was ready to leap into the future with a bold brand, clear messaging, and outreach strategies that will help new audiences discover what existing patrons have long known: PVTA provides high quality theatre while remaining accessible.

The Creative

To bring this vision to life, Waypoint Collective collaborated closely with PVTA leadership, actors, crew and patrons to gain a deep understanding of their programming, artistic vision, and community impact. With these insights, Waypoint reimagined PVTA’s brand identity—introducing a new name, logo, design, messaging, and visual elements that authentically reflect the theatre’s story and the experience it seeks to create.

We also developed a sub-brand for their youth theatre program to help it stand on its own while still remaining recognizable to the overall Platte Valley Theatre Arts brand.

Waypoint also developed Season Art templates, giving each show a distinct voice and unique look, while highlighting PVTA’s role in bringing diverse theatre to the community.

The Creative

As part of the rebrand, PVTA also launched a completely redesigned website. This dynamic platform serves as a digital extension of the theatre’s mission, vision and story, providing visitors with an intuitive, engaging way to explore upcoming performances, learn about the company’s impact, and connect with the community.
